Although I thought it was going to be significantly larger in just about every dimension, it gets the job done at an excessively high level. Every part is coated in a very nice, almost teflon finish, and you can just tell by holding it that it is very sturdy. Not only that but it is also well designed. when loosened, only one side really comes out, because it is spring loaded on that side, then you squeeze together that side and the other side is free, this allows for great options as far as easily removing part of the mount without losing the positioning of the mount, and also without having one part fall to the ground. The only problem i see with the rubber ball joints is that when you apply pressure it does flex a bit, but I've tested and if it is tightened properly it isn't going to move or anything, and if used in the car, or used for a camera, i could see how this would actually be better as it would absorb shock.As for the mounting options, I had a specific drill pattern i knew I wanted to use to mount something, and I was actually quite impressed how stable the smaller mount was with only two screws, they really nailed the design on this, and I will definitely use them for future projects.
